Working with Tableau and Alteryx (TTTABALX2)
Working with Tableau and Alteryx (TTTABALX2) Course Details:
Both Tableau and Alteryx have disrupted the world of Data Analytics by offering solutions accessible to the analyst (beyond the realm of the coders and programmers), boosting their productivity and their time to insight along the way. Those solutions combine offer to the analyst full control over the data processing chain, from the moment it is extracted, to the moment it is consumed. Each solution has its strengths:
- Tableau is a great tool to explore data, and Alteryx is a great tool to prepare data in sequence
- Alteryx is a great tool to blend data, and Tableau is a great tool to share data
- Tableau is hiding the complexity from the users, Alteryx is exposing it

*Please Note: Course Outline is subject to change without notice. Exact course outline will be provided at time of registration.
This course is divided into two parts. The first part of the course provides students with a deep dive exploration of Tableau's visualization capabilities, and then the second half focuses on creating dashboards.
This course is about 50% hands-on lab and 50% lecture, with multiple practical exercises designed to reinforce core skills and concepts taught throughout the course. Students will be led through a series of progressively advanced topics, where each topic consists of lecture, group discussion, hands-on lab exercises, and lab review. This course is “skills-centric”, designed to train attendees in essential Tableau data handling functions and reporting skills, coupling the most current, effective techniques with the soundest practices.
Attending students should have a basic understanding of data and databases.
This is an introductory-level course geared for attendees who want a quick introduction to working with both Tableau and Alteryx, or for those who want a refresher of the basics or newer features. Individuals working with data-regardless of technical or analytical background are a fit for this course.
